February 25, 2017 - Blake Spencer Competes in DIRTcar Nationals at Volusia
Behind the wheel of the Bozard Ford #6 Super Late Model, Blake Spencer visited Volusia Speedway Park (Barberville, Florida) on Monday night for the 46th annual UMP DIRTcar Nationals. In a field of 43 cars, Spencer timed in fifth fastest in his qualifying group putting him on the third row of his heat. Taking the Top 3, Blake suffered issues with both his brakes and radiator dropping him back in his heat and preventing him from making it out for his 10-lap B-Main.

On Tuesday after the crew thrashed to get the car ready for action, Spencer logged a 5th place finish in his heat race giving him one final shot at the $7,000-to-win feature with a B-Main appearance. Needing a 2nd place finish or better, Blake came short with a 6th place outing. (Heath Lawson photo)

After persistent rain in the area cancelled both Wednesday and Thursday night’s DIRTcar Nationals, Blake Spencer returned to Volusia Speedway Park (Barberville, Florida) on Friday for the two remaining World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series sanctioned shows. Starting in 7th in his heat, Spencer jumped up one position sending him into the B-Main. Transferring the Top 2 into the feature, Blake held his spot for all 10-laps logging a 6th place finish.

For the final night of the 46th annual DIRTcar Nationals on Saturday, Spencer slipped back to a 10th place finish in his heat race transferring him into the B-Main for one last shot at the $10,000-to-finale. Taking the Top 3 into the 40-lap main event, Spencer recorded 12th place finish bringing an early end to his night.
